WAHINE BODYBOARDING PRO 2022

O estado do Espírito Santo receberá pela primeira vez uma etapa feminina do Circuito Mundial de Bodyboarding, o Wahine Bodyboarding PRO que será realizada na Praia de Jacaraípe, localizada na Serra – ES, Brasil.

A etapa é marcada pelo ineditismo. Pela primeira vez na história do tour, teremos a participação da categoria Master concorrendo em uma disputa de etapa única, onde a vencedora da etapa receberá o título de Campeã Mundial 2022.

A etapa recebeu o nome de “Wahine”, que significa “mulher” na língua havaiana. O nome Wahine conecta atletas com experiências e o sentimento de que força de vontade, persistência e disciplina, superam todos os obstáculos no caminho para a vitória. A figura estilizada de uma mulher indígena foi escolhida como elemento central da marca do evento. A imagem também reforça a presença da mulher no esporte, em um momento de afirmação frente às desigualdades em relação às categorias masculinas, já que premiações menores que as dos atletas masculinos são vistas com frequência em diversas competições nacionais e internacionais.

The state of Espírito Santo will receive for the first time a female stage of the Bodyboarding World Circuit, the Wahine Bodyboarding PRO which will be held at Praia de Jacaraípe, located in Serra – ES, Brazil.

The stage is marked by originality. For the first time in the history of the tour, we will have the participation of the Master category competing in a single stage dispute, where the winner of the stage will receive the title of World Champion 2022.

The stage was named “Wahine”, which means “woman” in the Hawaiian language. The name Wahine connects athletes with experience and the feeling that willpower, persistence and discipline overcome all obstacles on the way to victory. The stylized figure of an indigenous woman was chosen as the central element of the event's brand. The image also reinforces the presence of women in sport, in a moment of affirmation in the face of inequalities in relation to the male categories, since smaller awards than those of male athletes are frequently seen in several national and international competitions.
